Crochet addiction? Lol

Well I decided not to take some yarn and hooks while we went on a family holiday! We had 4 wonderful but exhausting days in York, home for a few then back on hols to sunny Ayrshire. We had a lovely time in a caravan park, beach and kids club kept the children happy and we got to spend some quality time with my sister who lives up there.

I however found myself craving a hook at times! When we had some chill out time I was itching to crochet for the relaxation and pain distraction for the fibro aches and lipedema pain. I managed to cope with getting lost in a book on my trusty kindle and a couple of sprays of cbd but it made me realise just how much crocheting actually does for me!

Summer holidays begin!

So yesterday my children finished school for the 6 weeks holiday. This used to fill me with dread but as they are now more independent it is much easier! I wont miss the school runs and I will definitely appreciate the break from being chair of governors at my youngests school. I also do much less work as a holistic therapist during school hols so this means more quality time with the kids and more energy plus more time to crochet!

As we have been predicted another two weeks of heatwave I decided to knock up some reusable crochet water bombs.

These things are so easy to make and there is no mess to clear up after! No rubber going to landfill and all you need is a bowl of water and they can play all afternoon!

I made these with a chenille chunky yarn and an 8mm hook and just made the pattern up as I went. It took me maybe an hour to make 5 inbetween watching Wentworth prison.

Hopefully I will be able to write more posts over the holidays and definitely read some more of the posts available on wordpress!

Bye for now and wish me luck to stay sane at home with two asd boys one with epilepsy one with dyspraxia and an 8 year old drama queen 😂

Help! Photography is not one of my talents!

I love crochet, making something functional out of a ball of yarn and a hook is satisfying! What is not so satisfying is when I come to share my creations over on facebook…

I look at the item with my eyes and it looks fab but on the screen it looks wonky, washed out or any tiny imperfection jumps up to say hello!! I am not a photographer beyond point and click with my phone but even so how do I get it so wrong lol

Any useful tips much appreciated!

Here are some examples of my less than stellar snaps!

Give me something to make or a body in pain to fix and I am your gal, but something that in my head should be relatively simple is just frustrating!

If you gave any easy tips or tricks to point me in the right direction please comment!

Thank you for taking a look at my blog! I hope to write about my life and passion for crochet as pain relief for my numerous chronic pain conditions. I am also very passionate about natural pain relief and healing methods including massage, aromatherapy oils, reiki and reflexogy and how to use these to manage pain levels.
